  1. Shimanami was something I always wanted to experience and I finally made time to go and actually do it! What is something YOU want to do?? πŸ™ƒ

  2. Something I want to do before the end of 2017? Go and celebrate the 100th anniversary of Finland's Independence. Already did Shikoku this year and it was my first time, even though I had meant to go since my first trip to Japan, way back in 2005.
Shimanami Kaido does sound like fun. Maybe next time I come to Japan?

  3. I'm going to give up everything I have, and move to Japan. I will be moving to Sapporo in April. This will be a dream come true for me. πŸ™‚

  4. Hi Angie, well the first thing I'm doing to finish this year is to lose 5 kilos more, I'm 9 and I feel incredible.😜😎
-I am amazed at your videos and more these last ones where you touched our hearts with such great kindness of the people of Japan.πŸ’–πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘πŸ‘ πŸ˜šπŸ€—
-No doubt there are good people in the world still.πŸ˜šπŸ’žπŸ™
-Finally, You are adorable cordial greetings and infinite thanks for your videos.πŸ˜πŸ˜˜πŸ™ŒπŸ‘πŸ’₯✌

edit: by the way there the fck do i put my trash if theres no places to put it lol

  7. I want to move to Japan for a year or 2. I spent 4 months there this year. Next year I'm going to do 6 months. Hopefully I can figure out a way to keep working freelance while in country and extend my stay. I love it there much more than the states right now.

  8. What an exciting beautiful bike trip you had. The views were gorgeous and the locals so kind. I was a little late in viewing the videos but glad I didn't have to wait long to find out what happen. The cliffhanger in the first video was a good one. I know I won't be able go anywhere by the end of this year but hopefully Japan in 2019. I've been going back to some of your older videos planning out where and what to do to get the most out of the trip. Thanks again Angela for another awesome video about Japan.

  9. After all, it caused trouble for the locals.
What do you think happens if you come to such people a lot?
Therefore, it is arrogance to say "They were kind to me."

  10. While the old lady should be applauded for her kindness, I do felt you guys have been a bit reckless by pushing ahead with the trip even thought you have zero idea of where to stay.

  11. I love your videos I had the opportunity to travel to Japan last month in October totally spontaneous…BEST SOLO TRIP ever can’t wait to go back to see more of Japan

  12. I was relieved that you finished this cycling in safe. There are many kind obaa-chan in Shimanami ^^. I think Shimanami kaido is most recommendableΒ cycling route in Japan.Β I am looking forwardΒ to watching your newΒ videoΒ soon.

  13. Aw Angela! Hard to book accomodation in advance on a bike trip I guess. I wanna try this though! The people are so kind and hospitable in Japan! πŸ™‚ glad your trip was a success!!

  14. Wow, thanks for the pep talk at the end of the video. I've been thinking about booking time off from work to take my dream trip to Japan for a few years now and after watching this I handed in my holiday form at work and managed to get time off for a few weeks at the end of October next year. I think all of your videos have helped inspire me to do this but the talk at the end of this video just made me realise if I want to do something I just need to do it and stop thinking about it. So thank you!

  15. Hello ! πŸ˜€ im from Italy and is a beautifull country but every time i see video with Japan i feel something like that country is in my heart. Your videos keep me happy

  16. Lawsons fried spicy chicken is the best thing! I've been to japan 3 times and everytime i just hunt down lawson's fried spicy chicken haha πŸ™‚
Great video! one day i'll do the ride!

  17. The rest stops in Japan is always great and full of fun (maybe except the ones in Tokyo metro area). I did 2 road trips in Japan (one by myself in Tokai area, one with my friends in Kanto/Shikoku area), hopping between different Onsen along the way. Interestingly, the thing that left my really impressed is the rest stops. Each of those got local stuff and great food; unlike the ones in the States…

  18. I like this video a lot! You were sooo courageous doing stuff like this! The previous video was whoow..i was actually worrind because in my country..don"t find people so hospitality as japanese.

  19. Hello, Help me~
I will be going to Hiroshima around January and was planning to do the cycling.. but I'm going by myself and I have little to none experience with travel and I don't know a lot of Japanese.. How long exactly does it take to go through three islands?
Because if I do this, I need to get back to Hiroshima as well.

I've already booked my hostel in Hiroshima and I was wondering if I do this cycling trip and it gets dark and I can't go back to Hiroshima, if you think staying on one of the islands hotels would be allowed while still checked in another hostel all the way in Hiroshima?

Also do you think only riding three islands and back would only take one day? I want to ride all the way but I'm on a tight schedule…

I'm from Australia and in the state I live in I don't ride my bike a lot so I thought this trip would be a good idea but I'm very worried since I'm going to Japan by myself and traveling alone for the first time.. Please, if you have any tips.. help me :'3

  20. Thank you for your inspiration and your lively spirit. I always wanted to visit Japan…(bucket list wish) so guess what? I just booked my flight(s) for next August!!!… See you soon Japan.

  21. Hi Angela if there's ever a case you're going on another impromptu Cycling trip plz do make a video of it. I'm really curious abt the good scenic Cycling spots in Japan. And where there might be written information on the net, a visual depiction of what to look out for is definitely more reassuring. And as always thanks for the awesome uploads😊

  22. for now , my wish is for you to see my comment reply !!!
in long term , I wish i can become a great person like you πŸ™‚

  23. Thanks for the beautiful video, so inspiring. I think I actually did everything I wanted to do in 2017! Can't wait to do more in 2018 and keep watching your videos!

  24. I am really considering to bring my wife's so awesome..!! a couple of question:
    1. How do you got back from there to Tokyo?
    2. Which is the best island to stop over for the night?
    3. What season is the best for cycling considering you are cycling in Autumn and it get dark pretty early?

  26. Actually on the way there is a pretty small island that has a free camping site. If you do the route just bring some camping stuff and stay there for free

  27. Thank you so much for all of your videos, they are so inspiring and amazing to watch. Also wish I lived in Japan but visiting soon πŸ™‚ Thank you for your advice about making time for the things you want to do, it is such a good idea to write them down in the month!

  28. I really want to live there for rest of my life, thank you for the awesome video, People are really helpful and nature is so mesmerizing. Japan is awesome and there are many places we never get to know, however exploring new places is what life is.

  29. You are so amazing and inspirational Angela! I’m heading to Hiroshima this week and your video inspired me to do this bike ride! Thank you for sharing with us your amazing journey and showing all the wonderful and kind people of Japan!

  30. I feel ashamed now when see an adorable girl cycling through all those islands with mamacharie and can still smile, while I was riding from Kyoto to Nara back and forth with well speced MTB and still tired like there was no tomorrow hehe

  31. Looks like paradise, astounding panoramas, friendly people, nice villages, good food. What else can u ask? A pity i live on the other side of the world, but i'll go ther!!. Arigatou for showing us this video

  32. I have been to Shimanami Kaido before. 70km by bicycle is hard for you because there are many steep roads in Shimanami. I would likn to recommend tourists to rend electronic motor cycle in comparison with normal bicycle. Your video is so great and interesting but I thought 4th island name is OOMISHIMA, not OIMISIMA.

  33. Biking is so fun. Remember Jesus loves you! Pray to Him from your heart to find out if He exists. Devil hates us. Thank you for your interesting vids about your country Japan. So well done. Vids have passion & creativity.

  34. Accidentially I found your video looking for cycling videos all over the world. Its really well done. You are a wonderful person and your are a brilliant video maker. The end of part one … really touching. Thank you for having a look inside the japanese society, the behaviour of the people, very nice people. Wish you all the best from Berlin

  35. Sorry to say, you actually did what I wanted to do, but you rented the bikes. I want to bring my own bike and tour 6 islands by bike.

  36. a route that visits some of my favorite places, but I've never done it on a bicycle. Very nice! I live in Wisconsin (USA) but my son lives on Shikoku in a suburb of Tokushima (Aizumi). Keep up the good video work! I've experienced much of the kindness and helpfulness in Japan that you have. Dai suki desu!

  38. Hi, when you taking this video? i'm palanning to go there in november, is the weather nice for cycling on november there?

  39. Japan is so awesome outside of the gaijin riddled cities like kyoto. I had a similar experience that this girl had while travelling around kyushu, the sanin chiho region and hokkaido! Although there is not much stuff to do and it can be quite boring, the people are amazing and will be the highlight of your trip, always!

  40. I did this trip and it was the best thing i have done on a holiday! Loved it so much I wish i could do it again. Im from Australia.

  41. I cycled in Japan for 7 weeks last century and finally made the time in 2018, i returned, cycling the Shimanami kaido and some of the ohenro in Shikoku for 3 weeks. Love japan, the people, food, onsen, scenery and nature which are all covered in your well presented vlog. Only trouble is when i return home my heart breaks a bit but slowly mends thanks to travel vlogs like yours and my dream of returning to travel in the land of the rising sun πŸ™‚
