How to Mount a Bike with a QR Skewer onto a Wheel-On Trainer — Official Instructions | Zwift

– Hey, I’m Ian, and I’m gonna show you
how to mount your bike onto a wheel-on trainer,
if you’ve got a traditional quick-release skewer. For this demonstration,
we’re using a Kickr Snap, And my bike has a quick-release wheel. Pick your spot, make
sure you have enough room for your trainer, your bike, and whatever you’re running Zwift on. And you wanna have access to power, and a good WiFi signal
is really important. So, let’s get started. Unfold your trainer, and
deploy any legs that it has. (bars locking) And make sure everything’s
nice and stable. Then I’m gonna grab my bike. I’ve actually replaced the skewer with the skewer that
came with the trainer, this is pretty important, especially if you’ve
got a really lightweight skewer for your bike. Now, you wanna release
the clamping mechanism, and move the roller back, so
it’ll make room for the tire. (gears clicking) You’re gonna align your quick-release with the non-drive side of the trainer, making sure to adjust it
for the quick-release lever. Then you can close the mechanism, make it nice and snug, if
you need to make adjustments for the tightness, you can
make those on this side. And once you’re done, you
can rotate that locking ring to hold it in place, so
you don’t have to do this each and every time you put
your bike back on the trainer. Then you wanna turn the knob, to bring the roller to the
tire, until it makes contact, and moves the flywheel. You also wanna make sure that
you’ve got enough pressure in your tires, so that it’s
consistent each time you ride. About 100 PSI is a really
good place to start. Everything seems to be moving smoothly. So, all I need to do now is plug it in, and you’re ready to Zwift. Have fun, and I’ll see you in Watopia.
