I AM BRITT MORENO, THANK YOU FOR JOINING US WE ARE TAKING YOU LIVE TO THE CAMERA AT FOR 25 AND I-70. YOU CAN SEE THE FIREFIGHTERS DOUSING THE AREA WITH WATER. RICK SALINGER IS COVERING COLORADO FIRST AND IS LIVE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD AROUND 56 AND YORK, RICK, GOOD AFTERNOON. Reporter: GOOD AFTERNOON, THIS FIRE IS JUST ABOUT HISTORY AND WILL GO DOWN IN THE HISTORY BOOKS IS A LOT OF SMOKE BUT NO GRAVE CONSEQUENCES. THEY CONTINUE TO POUR WATER ON IT BUT IT DOES NOT SEEM TO PRESENT ANY DANGER THE MASSIVE BLAZE BROKE OUT AROUND 3:15 PM YESTERDAY AND BROUGHT 100 FIREFIGHTERS FROM 15 DIFFERENT DEPARTMENTS. THE SMOKE CAN BE SEEN THROUGHOUT THE METRO AREA. THESE WERE PRIMARILY CRUSHED CARS THAT WERE BURNING AT THE RECYCLING FACILITY. SO FAR, NO INJURIES AND THE AIR IS OKAY. WE RECOMMENDED THAT PEOPLE AVOID THE AREA, ANY SMOKE IS TOXIC, A DUMPSTER FIRE, CAR FIRE, STRUCTURE FIRE. WE PREFER PEOPLE NOT BE OUT AND ABOUT BUT THE EXPERTS SAY THERE IS NO THREAT. Reporter: THE FACILITY IS OWNED BY EVRAZ NORTH AMERICA WHO OPERATES PLANS THROUGHOUT THE DENVER AREA, COLORADO, THE U.S., AND INTO CANADA. THEY OPERATE THE BIG STEEL PLANT IN PUEBLO.
