Riding Karst Loop. Return to the Monument Mountain Bike Trails, Hobbs State Park, Northwest Arkansas

H,i my name is Cody and
you’re watching Lunch Ride. Previously on Lunch Ride, we explored the Monument
Trails in Hobbs State Park. Well, there are three parts to the Monument Trails.
There’s the downhill trails of Sawtooth and Timber Jack. Then the amazing Wolf
Den Loop, and finally the Karst Loop. Matt and I rode and filmed the other two a
little while back but we returned to finish out the trilogy. Each one of the
sections has their own distinct personality. The Sawtooth and Timber Jack
trails have their jumps berms and downhill style while Wolf Den is more
cross-country but with a couple sustained super flowy descents that are
just a blast, but the Karst Loop is pure scenic beauty. Whoa. You start with a good climb in the woods
like most of the trails around Hobbs, but soon enough you start to see Beaver Lake
through the trees and it’s just awesome. Now, karst, I just found out, is a
geological term for the limestone formations that make up this whole area.
I just assumed there was the name of some old homesteaders like the “Karst
Ranch” or something. So, I’m gonna be throwing that into conversations
whenever I have a chance. Someone will be all, “Look at those cool rocks over there!” and I’ll be like, “What? Do you mean the karst?” yes oh yeah The trail is about eight miles and it’s
labeled as intermediate. I think it’s labeled that because of a
little bit of exposure in a couple places and because of a few short
technical sections. But all that stuff is walkable if you’re not feeling into it
and it’s all worth it just to check out the views. Anyway, my name’s Cody and you’re
watching Lunch Ride. If you liked the video, if you thought it was helpfu,l hit
like and subscribe and share with your friends. Until next time…

  1. Beautiful!! Saved this video to remind me that this trail is a top candidate for a family trip! With scenery to stop and check out (and fossils in the limestone too I hear), the distance and terrain looks like a wide variety of fitness/skill levels could enjoy.

  2. I like the new bike's bling. And that drone interlude was beautiful. I think I rode Karst Loop the other direction. Must go back and try it your direction

  3. gorgeous place, nicely narrated and great selection of not disturbing music, love it!!! How you like your new ride,,,,,, cheers from Colorado, V!

  4. Beautifully done as always! I love your sound. Are you using the little recorder and lav mic you have in the description? Or is it the GoPro sound? Man, I hope your frame is ok๐Ÿ˜Ÿ
